WHAT IS ESTATE PLANNING:

Estate Planning is a process whereby a person puts in measures (plan) to deal with his or her assets, both in the present and after death. Estate planning can be used to safeguard or preserve one's assets, to grow the estate assets and further ensure that the assets are effectively and beneficially distributed.

Some aspects of estate planning, among many others, include financial planning, income tax and business planning, matrimonial property regime planning, trust and estate planning, wills and estate planning.

There are many more other aspects of estate planning and one requires the services of a few professionals for effective estate planning. Such professionals include attorneys, accountants and financial advisors.

We will, throughout the month of June, be covering aspects of estate planning that we at Sekgala and Njau Attorneys can offer to you, i.e wills, trusts and matrimonial property regimes and how they can be used in effective estate planning.
